Full disclaimer – I only use this bread machine to make my dough, and then bake it in my Dutch Oven in the oven (the crust comes out crunchy, and the inside super soft). If you don’t have the bandwidth to attend to your own starter, and the whole process of breadmaking, this is a really great alternative.
Follow any recipe by adding all the wet ingredients first, then the dry ingredients, and then create a little “crater” to add 2.25tsp BREAD MACHINE yeast. Select the “dough” function, and let the machine do all the work for you. A full cycle usually runs 90min.
At 1hr Ihr (30min to go) I turn on my oven to 400F, and place my empty Dutch Oven (with cover) to heat up.
When the dough is ready, carefully pull out the Dutch oven, turn the temp. down to 350F.
Carefully place the dough inside the dutch oven, score the top, add nuts or anything the recipe calls for sprinkling on top, cover and place in the oven (at 350F).
Bake covered for 15min, and then uncovered for an additional 10-15min until the crust is golden brown and crunchy-looking.
Pull it out and let it rest on a cooling rack.
