We love fresh produce and eat it often throughout the day. And I’m so pick about buying firm fruits and veggies, I really hate having anyone (including my husband!) pick them out for me… so grocery shopping while sheltering in place has definitely been a struggle… After experimenting with a few delivery services and stores, I’ve narrowed down my process to a consistent routine.
I love Costco. My routine before the pandemic included a routine hop for key items. Fast forward (or rewind) to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Shelter-in-Place order, we transitioned to using Instacart exclusively for grocery shopping. I quickly discovered that our Costco orders produced the most successful results – fewer substitutions and refunds than other orders. But I also knew that buying too much at Costco will end up resulting in wasted food and money.
It took some planning, but I’m pretty happy with our current routine. I wouldn’t be surprised if we are actually saving quite a bit with our bulk grocery-shopping. It works for us, so I thought I’d share my tips.
I knew I wanted to bring in a few new games and activities to keep them busy and distracted from the long days being stuck at home. I bring out roughly one new item/week. They have all been huge hits, and are used almost daily (if not more often)
